Receta Fairy Puppy Chow
by Carole Jones

As a momma to six kids that span from ages 4 – 19 years old, I have come to understand how short my time with them truly is before they pack it up and leave home. I’m afraid to admit it but I’ve become one of those old ladies who tell young moms “to enjoy this time with your little ones because it goes so fast.” I hated those old ladies when I was a young mom. I appreciated their intent but they always seemed to share their words of wisdom only when my little ones were screaming, throwing a fit or generally causing a scene.

Now that my oldest is gone and my second close behind, I think I should have listened to those wise old ladies a bit more closely than I did. They were right, of course. I don’t have regrets about what I did or did not do with my older children when they were little but I do wish I wouldn’t have been in such a rush for them to grow-up and become independent. It turns out, I really like being depended on by my children

For this reason, I am especially grateful for my little two (ages 4 & 6) who give me that chance to enjoy every minute of their young lives, both the good and the bad, with no anxious feelings of wanting them to be “through” a particular stage. Plus, as a momma to three teenagers, I’ve learned that those teenage stages are considerably more difficult than the youngster ones! Little kids = little problems. Big kids = big problems!

With all of my children, I have enjoyed finding fun and creative ways to spend time with them, in hopes of building memories that will last once they have left home and started families of their own. With Disney releasing an all-new movie The Pirate Fairy, I put on my Fun Mom hat once again and created this magical fairy treat to enjoy together when the movie is released on Blu-ray and Digital HD on April 1st. My little two adore everything related to fairies and pirates so this means they have been pleading for weeks to see The Pirate Fairy. They will be so excited when I surprise them with the movie, along with this special fairy treat!

recipe by My Kitchen Escapades

1. Place cereal in a large mixing bowl.

2. Melt chocolate and butter in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute. Stir to smooth. If needed, microwave for another 15 seconds to completely melt the chocolate. Add a dab of purple gel coloring and mix. You want a deep, rich purple color.

3. Pour the chocolate over the cereal and gently mix them together, careful not to crush the cereal. Add about half of your sprinkles and mix again. Add the powdered sugar and mix until the cereal is evenly coated. Finish off with a few more sprinkles on top.
