Ingredientes

  • 1 x chicken - (3 to 3 1/2 lbs)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 x celery stalk
  • 2 x onions
  • 2 x garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp dry thyme
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 c. chicken broth

Direcciones

  1. Cut the chicken into serving pcs: the breast into halves, the legs and thighs separated, plus the wings, for a total of 8 pcs. Trim away any visible fat and throw away. Rinse the chicken well under cool running water. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Sprinkle the chicken with the salt and black pepper. Place the chicken in a plastic or possibly brown bag. Pour the flour into the bag and shake well to cover the chicken all over. Remove the chicken from the bag and dust off excess flour. Save 1 Tbsp. of the flour to use to thicken the gravy.
  3. Dice the celery, slice the onions, and mince the garlic. Crush the thyme. Set aside.
  4. Heat the oil in a large skillet which has a cover. Add in the chicken and saute/fry over medium-low heat for about 20 min, turning occasionally to brown proportionately. When golden, push the chicken to the side of the pan. Add in the reserved Tbsp. of flour and saute/fry, stirring, till lightly browned.
  5. Add in the celery, onion, and garlic to the skillet and saute/fry for 5 min, stirring occasionally, or possibly till the vegetables are tender. Stir together the chicken and vegetables.
  6. Add in the chicken broth. Bring to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to very low, cover, and simmer the chicken for 20 to 25 min, or possibly till the chicken is fork-tender and the juices run clear when pierced.
  7. This recipe yields 4 servings.
