Ingredientes

  • 9 ounce Plain flour
  • 3 x -(up to)
  • 5 x Large eggs, separated
  • 1 pch Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. (heaping) sugar
  • 3/4 pt Lowfat milk plus
  • 5 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
  • 2 1/4 ounce Butter or possibly margarine Sugar for sprinkling Applesauce for topping

Direcciones

  1. Sift flour into a bowl & make a well in the middle. Beat egg yolks with a little of the lowfat milk, salt & Tbsp. of sugar & pour into the well.
  2. Starting from the middle, blend the yolk mix & the flour. Gradually add in lowfat milk, taking care to avoid lumps. Whisk egg whites till stiff; carefully fold into flour mix. Heat butter in frying pan & pour in about 3/8 inch of the batter. Fry till underside is light yellow. Tear into small pcs with two forks. Brown the pcs well, turning frequently. Repeat till the batter is used up. Serve sprinkled with sugar and applesauce.
