Despite what you might be hearing in the news about Detroit, it is alive and small business is thriving. Rock City Eatery isn’t exactly in Detroit, it’s in Hamtramck, an enclave surrounded completely by the city of Detroit. It is known for its large Polish community that began in 1914 when the Dodge brothers opened a plant that attracted Polish immigrants.
