%20and%20pressed%20that%20%22publish%22%20button,%20I%20started%20thinking%20that%20I%20might%20get%20blasted%20for%20my%20thoughts.%20I%20tend%20to%20think%20of%20these%20things%20after%20the%20fact%20sometimes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22%20I%20have%20no%20problem%20at%20all%20with%20a%20bit%20of%20%22touch%20up%22.%20I%20am%20forever%20grateful%20to%20my%20OB%20who%20interned%20with%20a%20fabulous%20plastic%20surgeon%20and%20left%20me%20with%20an%20almost%20invisible%20scar%20after%203%20C-sections.%20There%20are%20many%20who%20undergo%20Bariatric%20surgery%20and%20work%20very%20hard%20to%20achieve%20their%20health%20and%20fitness%20goals%20who%20benefit%20greatly%20from%20surgery.%20I'm%20not%20even%20talking%20about%20Botox-%20I'm%20talking%20about%20parents%20who%20are%20paying%20for%20breast%20augmentation%20for%2016%20year%20olds!%20That%20CHILD%20will%20never%20be%20able%20to%20breast%20feed%20HER%20child%20because%20of%20a%20ridiculous%20obsession%20with%20looking%20%22hot%22.%20And%20is%20THAT%20the%20right%20way%20to%20celebrate%20graduating%20high%20school??%20It%20really%20upsets%20me%20to%20see%20men%20and%20women%20every%20day%20who%20are%20so%20frustrated%20with%20what%20they%20see%20as%20their%20%22inability%22%20to%20compete%20with%20what%20they%20%22think%22%20they%20should%20look%20like.%20I%20had%20a%20husband%20bring%20his%20wife%20to%20me%20for%20training%20and%20while%20the%20poor%20woman%20sat%20there%20in%20silence,%20he%20proceeded%20to%20tell%20me%20that%20MY%20job%20was%20to%20get%20her%20into%20a%20bikini%20in%206%20weeks.%20His%20buddy%20had%20a%20new%20%22trophy%20wife%22%20and%20he%20didn't%20want%20to%20be%20%22embarrassed%22.%20I%20don't%20think%20he%20was%20expecting%20the%20language%20he%20heard%20from%20THIS%205%20foot%20Italian!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhy%20on%20earth%20would%20a%20healthy%2015%20or%2016%20year%20old%20need%20Botox%20or%20Liposuction??%20I%20may%20be%20dating%20myself%20here,%20but%20in%20my%20day%20every%20Daddy%20I%20knew%20wanted%20to%20throw%20a%20blanket%20over%20his%20little%20girl%20before%20she%20walked%20out%20the%20door.%20I%20can't%20imagine%20my%20father%20or%20my%20Nonno%20breaking%20out%20his%20checkbook%20for%20his%20little%20girl%20to%20look%20%22more%20womanly%22.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20let's%20talk%20about%20the%20boys.%20I'm%20a%20trainer.%20I've%20worked%20with%20Armed%20Forces%20recruiters,%20trained%20bodybuilders%20and%20worked%20with%20college%20football%20teams-%20I'm%20no%20%22sissy%20girl%22%20even%20if%20I'm%20small%20in%20stature.%20Listen%20up%20parents-%20NO%20child%2013%20or%2014%20or%2015%20years%20old%20should%20be%20lifting%20weights%20like%20a%20bodybuilder!%20Their%20growth%20plates%20aren't%20completely%20closed%20till%20about%2017%20or%2018%20and%20damage%20to%20the%20growth%20plates%20is%20a%20HUGE%20deal%20involving%20risks%20to%20their%20continued%20growth,%20hormones,%20and%20future%20health.%20The%20father%20that%20told%20me%20that%20his%20son's%20high%20school%20coach%20was%20going%20to%20%22make%20a%20man%22%20out%20of%20him%20and%20he'd%20be%20%22a%20real%20stud%22%20also%20felt%20my%20wrath.%20I'm%20talking%20about%20society's%20obsession%20with%20how%20we%20%22look%22%20versus%20how%20we%20%22feel%22.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERun,%20play,%20live,%20laugh,%20love,%20make%20your%20home%20a%20loving%20sanctuary,%20eat%20well,%20work%20hard,%20play%20harder,%20and%20be%20the%20best%20person%20you%20can%20be-%20and%20instill%20that%20in%20every%20child%20you%20are%20blessed%20enough%20to%20be%20around%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOkay-%20I'm%20off%20my%20soapbox%20now.%20And%20again,%20I%20thank%20you%20all%20so%20very%20much.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20go%20make%20some%20of%20those%20Hot%20Chocolate%20Cherries%20from%20yesterday's%20post-%20we're%20still%20licking%20the%20last%20bits%20out%20of%20the%20jar!%20YUM!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOak%20Island%20Beach%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllie%20thought%20this%20was%20pretty%20cool...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMr%20B%20giving%20Nick%20pointers%20on%20body%20boarding.%20No,%20he%20didn't%20demonstrate%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIs%20this%20suit%20a%20hoot?%20Our%20little%20bodybuilder!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAren't%20I%20COOL%20Grandma??!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20see%20the%20Italian%20in%20him-%20he%20talks%20with%20his%20hands!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20pretty%20girls-%20Aunt%20Allie%20and%20the%20Princess..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETonight%20we're%20sharing%20a%20pasta%20dish%20I%20made%20for%20a%20recent%20luncheon.%20A%20wonderful%20fresh%20asparagus%20pesto%20blends%20with%20cognac%20infused%20shrimp%20for%20a%20flavorful,%20yet%20healthy%20dish.%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShell%20and%20devein%20shrimp%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20a%20frying%20pan%20and%20melt%201.5%20tbsp%20butter.%20When%20hot,%20add%201%20chopped%20garlic%20clove.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20for%201%20min%20on%20medium%20to%20low%20heat%20without%20turning%20it%20brown,%20then%20add%20the%20shrimps%20and%20bring%20the%20heat%20to%20high.%20Cook%20until%20the%20shrimps%20are%20pink%20on%20all%20sides%20(only%20a%20few%20mns).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAway%20from%20heat%20and%20quickly,%20add%20the%20cognac%20and%20flamb%C3%A9e%20the%20shrimps.%20Set%20aside,%20keeping%20them%20warm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EClean%20the%20asparagus%20and%20snap%20off%20tough%20ends.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlanch%20them%20for%20a%20few%20mins,%20then%20submerge%20under%20cold%20water%20to%20cool%20quickly.%20Drain.%20Cut%20some%20tips%20off%20and%20set%20aside%20for%20garnish-%20the%20rest%20goes%20in%20the%20pesto%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20food%20processor,%20mix%20together%20the%203%20remaining%20garlic%20cloves,%20the%20basil,%203%20tbsp%20of%20butter%20(soft),%20the%20pine%20nuts,%20a%20dash%20of%20Maldon%20sea%20salt,%20pepper%20and%20the%20asparagus.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESet%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrate%20parmesan%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20the%20spaghetti%20till%20al%20dente.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReserve%20a%20few%20tablespoons%20of%20the%20pesto%20and%20a%20few%20shrimp%20if%20you%20intend%20to%20layer%20the%20dish.%20Take%20a%20large%20bowl%20and%20mix%20together%20the%20spaghetti%20with%20the%20pesto%20sauce%20and%20parmesan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20a%20lovely%20presentation,%20pile%20a%20layer%20of%20pasta%20in%20a%20circle,%20top%20with%20a%20layer%20of%20shrimp,%20then%20more%20pasta.%20Top%20with%20some%20pesto%20and%20a%20few%20pieces%20of%20shrimp%20and%20asparagus.%20Sprinkle%20with%20toasted%20pine%20nuts%20if%20desired.%20OR,%20just%20toss%20everything%20together%20in%20a%20large%20platter!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECome%20join%20us%20at%20Designs%20by%20Gollum%20for%20Foodie%20Friday.%20Michael%20Lee%20and%20her%20guests%20serve%20up%20the%20best%20food%20in%20town!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20Always,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBuon%20Cibo,%20Buon%20Amici,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPattie%20and%20Allie%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
