Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Minced onions
  • 1 c. Minced celery
  • 1 c. Minced green bell pepper
  • 2 x Cloves garlic,chopped
  • 1/4 c. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 1/4 c. Flour,all-purpose Salt to taste Pepper to taste
  • 1 dsh Tabasco sauce
  • 5 x Bay leaves
  • 1 can Tomatoes,liquid removed(16oz)
  • 1 c. Tomato juice
  • 5 c. Warm water
  • 3 c. Shrimp,shelled/deveined
  • 6 sm hard-shell crabs
  • 24 x Shucked oysters
  • 1 lb Okra,minced
  • 3 c. Warm cooked rice Minced fresh parsley

Direcciones

  1. In large Dutch oven, gently saute/fry onion, celery and bell pepper in butter; add in garlic and continue to sauce 5 min.
  2. Remove from heat and slowly stir in flour.
  3. Add in salt, pepper, Tabasco, bay leaves, tomatoes and tomato juice; simmer for 15 min.
  4. Add in the warm water, shrimp, crabs, oysters, and okra; cover and simmer 30 min.
  5. Spoon a few Tbsp. cooked rice in each of six large soup bowls; ladle gumbo onto rice and garnish with parsley.
