French Fried Vidalia Onions

Ingredientes

  • 2 lbs. Vidalia onions, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • Ice water
  • 1 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Direcciones

  1. Separate onion slices into rings. Soak in ice water for 2 hrs. This is important for crispy rings. Drain and dry thoroughly. Proceed to batter with the following:
  2. Dip onion rings in batter. Fry in deep fat at 370 degrees till brown. Drain well on paper towels. Serve while warm. Sprinkle with salt just before serving. Serves 6-8.
