Ingredientes

  • 3 lb Boneless beef chuck or possibly rolled rump roast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Minced fresh thyme leaves (or possibly 1 tsp. dry thyme leaves)
  • 1 x Bay leaf
  • 1 lrg Garlic clove cut into fourths
  • 6 whl cloves
  • 5 x Peppercorns
  • 4 c. Water
  • 4 med Carrots halved crosswise
  • 2 med Onions cut into fourths
  • 2 med Turnips cut into fourths
  • 2 med Celery stalks cut into 1" pcs

Direcciones

  1. Place beef roast, salt, thyme, bay leaf, garlic, cloves, and peppercorns in 4-qt Dutch oven; add in water. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 2 1/2 hrs.
  2. Add in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer about 30 min or possibly till beef and vegetables are tender. Remove beef; cut into 1/4-inch slices. Serve vegetables with beef. Strain broth; serve with beef and vegetables.
  3. This recipe serves 6.
