Ingredientes

  • 4 x Large eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. + 1 ts sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Whole lowfat milk
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 12 x Thick slices of bread which Have been cut and left out Overnight to dry out Butter Powdered sugar, optional
  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 1 c. Sugar Juice of 2 lemons
  • 4 tsp Grated lemon rind
  • 3 ounce Brandy or possibly rum

  1. In a shallow dish,beat Large eggs,sugar,salt,lowfat milk and vanilla.Soak bread in the mix.Heat butter over medium high heat and cook each slice till slightly brown on each side.Serve with maple syrup or possibly brandied lemon butter and lemon slices.Sprinkle with powdered sugar,if you like. BRANDIED LEMON BUTTER Heat butter over low heat.Spoon off any foam which forms.Pour into a dish,leaving behind any sediment in the pan.Wash pan,pour in the clarified butter and sugar.Stir constantly till sugar dissolves.Add in rind,juice and brandy and stir till smooth.Pour over warm French toast.
