Receta French Vanilla Glazed Almond Squares
Who loves sweets? It’s definitely one of my guilty pleasures. If I think about sweets then I want to bake something. Just like these French Vanilla Glazed Almond Bars. Baking is quite therapeutic for me. I love to bake and then watch people enjoy the sweet deliciousness of it all.
I also love to experiment in the kitchen, so when International Delight challenged food blogger to get creative with their product I was all over it.
My favorite creamer so far is the fat-free French Vanilla. You probably do not know I did some previous experiments with coffee creamers in baking. It’s a delicate issue coming up with the right texture.
So after many experiments, this baking scientist settled on French Vanilla Glazed Almond Bars.

Author: Marlene Baird
Serves: 25
Ingredients
FOR THE BARS
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
- 1 large egg
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup oats, old-fashioned or quick cooking
- 1 ounce sliced almonds (about ½ cup)
- FOR THE GLAZE
- ⅔ cup powdered sugar
- 4 teaspoons (or more) International Delight French Vanilla Creamer
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat to 375 degrees F
Line an 8 X 8 X 3-inch baking pan with parchment, or spray with non-stick spray.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the butter with the sugars, salt and vanilla. Then gently blend in the egg.
Mix in the flour, followed by the oats and almond slices
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, and smooth the top with a flat-bottomed spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven until it’s set and is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
Let it rest for at least 45 minutes.
While its cooling prepare the glaze
Whisk powdered sugar, 4 teaspoons creamer, and vanilla in small bowl to blend, adding more milk by ¼ teaspoonfuls if glaze is too thick to drizzle.
Glaze with the French Vanilla Glaze
Place sheet of foil on work surface. Place bars (still on rack) atop foil. Using spoon, drizzle glaze over bars in zigzag pattern.
Let bars sit until glaze sets, about 15 minutes.
Cut into bars.
