%20filling%20encased%20in%20rice!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDo%20you%20think%20it%20works?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20wasn't%20too%20hard%20to%20make%20actually.%20Looking%20back,%20it%20might%20have%20been%20better%20to%20make%20this%20with%20basmati%20rice,%20rather%20than%20plain%20rice,%20as%20it%20has%20a%20bit%20more%20flavour%20when%20baked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20rice%20in%20this%20dish%20goes%20nice%20and%20crusty%20which%20is%20not%20to%20everyone's%20taste%20but%20I've%20always%20loved%20the%20crusty%20bits%20at%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20rice%20cooker%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20I%20warn%20you%20now,%20it's%20very%20tricky%20trying%20to%20cut%20this%20into%20neat%20pie%20slices!%20I%20eventually%20managed%20to%20get%20a%20decent-looking%20slice%20that%20looked%20like%20a%20real%20pie%20(I%20thought%20so%20anyway...)%20You'll%20need%20to%20cut%20through%20the%20crusty%20base%20a%20few%20times%20so%20you%20don't%20end%20up%20with%20the%20filling%20toppling%20out%20everywhere%20when%20you%20try%20to%20lift%20a%20slice%20out%20and%20find%20that%20it's%20still%20stuck%20to%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20pie%20at%20the%20base.%20(I%20didn't%20make%20this%20mistake%20at%20all...)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEgg%20Pied%20Rice%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20an%208%22%20pie%20dish%20(serves%203-4):%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1)%20Put%20the%20rice%20in%20a%20pan%20with%20water%20up%20to%20about%20half%20a%20centimetre%20above%20the%20rice.%20Bring%20to%20the%20boil,%20then%20turn%20right%20down%20and%20cover.%20Leave%20for%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2)%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20240%20degrees%20C.%20Pour%20the%20eggs%20into%20a%20hot%20wok%20and%20remove%20when%20cooked%20through.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4)%20Fry%20the%20bacon%20and%20onion,%20followed%20by%20the%20peas%20and%20sweetcorn.%20Return%20the%20egg%20back%20in%20to%20mix%20together,%20adding%20the%20oyster%20sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5)%20Lightly%20butter%20a%20pie%20dish.%20Sprinkle%20the%20paprika%20evenly%20across%20the%20base%20and%20sides.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6)%20Spoon%20a%20layer%20of%20rice%20evenly%20onto%20the%20base,%20pushing%20outwards%20to%20cover%20the%20sides%20as%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7)%20Tip%20the%20egg%20filling%20into%20the%20middle,%20and%20cover%20over%20with%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20rice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E8)%20Dot%20a%20little%20butter%20over%20the%20top,%20cover%20with%20foil%20and%20bake%20on%20the%20bottom%20shelf%20for%20about%2045%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20there%20you%20have%20it%20-%20Egg%20Pied%20Rice!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPie%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERead%20my%20other%20Friday%20Pie-Day%20adventures.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
