Fried Stuffed Peppers

Ingredientes

  • 12 x Jalapenos Stuffing (see below)
  • 2 x Egg whites
  • 2 x Egg yolks
  • 2 tsp Water
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour (appx, maybe more) Salt Oil for shallow frying

Direcciones

  1. Slit the peppers down the side. Remove seeds (and veins, if you wish).
  2. Stuff with stuffing.
  3. Beat egg whites stiff.
  4. Beat yolks with flour and water; season with salt. Beat till creamy and thick. Mix in egg whites to make a light batter.
  5. Dip stuffed chiles in batter and fry in 3" of oil till golden brown on all sides. Remember, frying chiles may irritate your nose and eyes, so make sure your kitchen is well ventilated.
  6. Stuffing ideas: Monterey jack cheese (or possibly other Cheddar-type cheese) or possibly cream cheese, with or possibly without chives or possibly crab Rangoon mix (cream cheese and crabmeat with a little chutney and a few scallions) or possibly 12 medium cooked shrimp (out of the shell) and 12 t cream cheese or possibly many other possibilities.
