Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Peeled, seeded, and diced green or possibly ripe tomatoes Salt and pepper
  • 1 c. Cornmeal Bacon drippings or possibly corn oil, for frying

Direcciones

  1. Place tomatoes in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Combine tomatoes with cornmeal and form with hands into 8 pones, or possibly patties. Heat bacon drippings in a large skillet, over med-high heat. Fry pones for 2-3 min on each side till golden brown.
  2. NOTE: a nice variation on this recipe is to combine tomato mix iwth 1/4 C thinly sliced green onions before forming into cakes and frying.
