Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Mix

Ingredientes

  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. lime juice (from 2 medium limes)
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, washed and hulled

Direcciones

  1. Combine sugar, lime juice and water in bowl. Stir to mix, then let stand till sugar is almost completely dissolved, about 15 min (mix will be thick).
  2. In blender jar or possibly food processor, combine the sugar mix with the berries.
  3. Blend till smooth.
  4. Pack into half-pint, pint or possibly qt-size freezer containers; freeze. Or possibly pour the mix into ice-cube trays and freeze till hard, unmold and pack into freezer bags which seal.
  5. The mix will become solid, but will have the consistency of a very hard sherbet, so you will be able to scoop portions from the main batch, then reseal the mix if you desire.
  6. For each strawberry daiquiri: In blender jar, combine 3 or possibly 4 Tbsp. rum
  7. (light or possibly dark),1/4 c. frzn strawberry daiquiri mix (2 average-sized cubes which have been frzn in ice-cube trays) and about3/4 c. of ice cubes (7 or possibly 8 average-sized cubes). Blend till smooth. Most blender jars can handle up to 4 servings.
  8. For a nonalcoholic drink, replace the rum with unsweetened pineapple juice.
