%20After%20that,%20I%20became%20obsessed%20with%20all%20things%20Oz.%20The%20books.%20Remember%20Return%20to%20Oz,%20with%20those%20freaky%20wheelers%20and%20Mombi,%20the%20witch%20that%20would%20switch%20heads?%20I%20was%20simultaneously%20terrified%20and%20fascinated%20by%20that%20movie.%20When%20I%20got%20older,%20I%20discovered%20Wicked%20(the%20musical,%20which%20I%20loved,%20and%20then%20the%20book%20which%20ended%20up%20being%20a%20little%20too%20disturbing%20for%20me.)%20Last%20year,%20I%20bought%20the%20Urban%20Decay%20eyeshadow%20palettes%20for%20Glinda%20and%20Theodora%20(the%20wicked%20witch)%20from%20Oz%20the%20Great%20and%20Powerful.%20So%20when%20we%20were%20asked%20by%20Legends%20of%20Oz:%20Dorothy%E2%80%99s%20Return%20if%20we%E2%80%99d%20be%20interested%20in%20helping%20them%20celebrate%20the%20release%20of%20the%20movie%20(this%20Friday!%20Eeek!),%20that%20was%20definitely%20a%20yes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20cast%20is%20kind%20of%20amazing%E2%80%93Lea%20Michele%20as%20Dorothy,%20Dan%20Aykroyd%20as%20the%20Scarecrow,%20Jim%20Belushi%20as%20The%20Lion,%20Kelsey%20Grammer%20as%20The%20Tin%20Man,%20Bernadette%20Peters%20as%20Glinda,%20Martin%20Short%20as%20The%20Jester%20(he%E2%80%99s%20a%20new%20character%20and%20the%20villain),%20Oliver%20Platt%20as%20Wiser%20the%20Owl,%20Hugh%20Dancy%20as%20Marshal%20Mallow,%20Megan%20Hilty%20as%20The%20China%20Princess,%20and%20Patrick%20Stewart%20as%20Tugg%20the%20Tugboat.%20I%20mean,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99ve%20always%20loved%20Glinda,%20so%20when%20we%20were%20thinking%20of%20something%20we%20could%20make%20to%20go%20along%20with%20the%20movie,%20I%20was%20pretty%20sure%20we%20needed%20wands.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20a%20series%20of%20thwarted%20efforts%20to%20get%20things%20off%20the%20ground%20(sheer%20inability%20to%20find%20pretzel%20rods%20ANYWHERE,%20sugar%20cookies%20that%20would%20just%20kept%20failing),%20I%20wound%20up%20with%20wands%20that%20I%20loved%20better%20than%20any%20of%20my%20original%20plans.%20Plus,%20they%20were%20easy,%20delicious,%20AND%20adorable,%20which%20is%20a%20trifecta%20of%20difficulty.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20need%20to%20make%20a%20batch%20of%20Rice%20Krispie%20Treats%20with%203%20tablespoons%20butter,%20an%208-ounce%20bag%20of%20strawberry%20marshmallows,%20and%205%20cups%20of%20Rice%20Krispies.%20Melt%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20large%20stock%20pot%20over%20medium-low%20heat,%20then%20add%20the%20marshmallows%20and%20stir%20frequently.%20When%20the%20marshmallows%20are%20melted%20and%20bubbling,%20remove%20from%20heat%20and%20add%20the%20cereal.%20Press%20into%20a%20greased%209%C3%979%E2%80%B3%20pan%20(or%20a%209%C3%9713%E2%80%B3%20pan,%20but%20press%20the%20mixture%20tightly%20into%20about%20half%20of%20the%20pan.)%20You%E2%80%99ll%20also%20need%20small%20wooden%20dowels%20(available%20in%20craft%20stores%20and%20the%20craft%20section%20of%20department%20stores),%20a%20large%20star-shaped%20cookie%20cutter,%20almond%20bark,%20white%20or%20pink%20sanding%20sugar,%20and%20pink%20and%20white%20ribbons.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECut%20the%20Rice%20Krispie%20Treats%20into%20stars%20(greasing%20the%20cookie%20cutter%20can%20help.%20Also,%20if%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20deep%20enough%20to%20cut%20all%20the%20way%20through,%20you%20can%20trace%20the%20edges%20with%20a%20sharp%20knife.%20ALSO.%20You%20can%20combine%20the%20scraps%20to%20about%20the%20same%20thickness%20and%20then%20cut%20them%20again,%20just%20be%20sure%20to%20pack%20it%20together%20pretty%20tightly%20so%20the%20stars%20don%E2%80%99t%20fall%20off%20the%20dowels.)%20You%20should%20get%20about%206-8%20stars%20(if%20you%20use%20the%20scraps.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECarefully%20insert%20a%20dowel%20into%20the%20bottom%20of%20each%20star%20(if%20you%20have%20extra%20time,%20you%20can%20freeze%20them%20first,%20but%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20to.%20Just%20make%20sure%20they%E2%80%99re%20completely%20cool%20before%20you%20cut%20them.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20the%20almond%20bark%20and%20then%20carefully%20dip%20one%20side%20of%20the%20star%20into%20the%20white%20chocolate.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20them%20non-dipped%20side%20down%20on%20a%20flat%20surface%20and%20then%20sprinkle%20generously%20with%20sanding%20sugar%20(I%20used%20this%20opal%20sanding%20sugar%20from%20Orson%20Gygi%20that%20I%20snagged%20on%20our%20trip%20to%20Utah%20a%20couple%20of%20weeks%20ago.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERepeat%20with%20the%20remaining%20wands%20and%20allow%20them%20to%20set%20up%20completely%20(you%20can%20let%20them%20chill%20out%20in%20the%20fridge%20or%20freezer).%20When%20they%E2%80%99re%20ready,%20tie%20each%20wand%20with%20pink%20and%20white%20ribbons%20and%20enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20were%20a%20huge%20hit%20at%20our%20house%20with%20the%20grown-ups%20and%20kids%20(and%20the%20girls%20and%20the%20boys,%20although%20my%209-year-old%20boy%20would%20swear%20up%20and%20down%20that%20he%20was%20only%20mildly%20interested%20in%20the%20non-pink%20parts.%20Which%20was%20a%20lie.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGlinda
