Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. very hot water
  • 2 env. (2 tbsp.) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 1/2 c. very warm water
  • 1/3 to 1/2 c. honey
  • 1/4 c. canola oil or possibly melted butter
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 c. whole wheat pastry flour
  • 2 c. whole wheat pastry flour or possibly white flour
  • 2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 c. sunflower seeds

Direcciones

  1. Blend the 1/2 c. hot (but not warm) water in a 2-c. glass measuring c. with the yeast and honey. Let stand till it bubbles up, 5-10 min. If yeast mix starts to bubble over the top before you are ready to use it, stir it down. If it hasn't bubbled when you are ready, check to make sure your yeast is still good.
  2. Blend in mixing bowl 1 1/2 c. warm water with honey and oil and salt. Add in 1 1/4 c. pastry flour and the yeast mix; stir vigorously for about 3 min. Mix and knead in remaining flour as needed to prevent sticking while kneading about 10 min. Add in sunflower seeds while kneading.
  3. Place dough in bowl, lightly grease top, cover, let rise till double, about 1 hour. Punch down. Divide into 12 rolls. Place rolls in hot place 15-20 min. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 min. Brush rolls with melted butter after baking.
