Ingredientes

  • 1 x very large round steak
  • 1 med onion, diced
  • 1/2 lb bacon, diced
  • 3 c. water Salt and pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. Lb. round steak to tenderize. Cut into about 6 large pcs.
  2. In a Dutch oven, cook the onions and bacon together till the onions are translucent/soft. Allow this mix to cold slightly. Divide it proportionately onto the round steak pcs; roll up meat and secure rolls with toothpicks.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Brown the steak pockets in the Dutch oven in the bacon drippings which remained.
  4. When browned on all sides, add in water, cover and simmer about 90 min.
  5. When the meat is tender, remove from the pan and thicken the gravy. Return the meat pockets to the gravy. Hot through.
  6. Great served with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.
