Grandma's Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredientes

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tsp water
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 2 cups chopped raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • Additional granulated sugar or colored sugar

Direcciones

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time
  3. Beat well after each addition.
  4. Beat in the water
  5. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Add to the creamed mixture
  7. Mix well
  8. Stir in the oats, raisins, and walnuts
  9. On a surface sprinkled with additional sugar or colored sugar, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness
  10. Cut out with desired cookie cutters
  11. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets
  12. Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes or until set
  13. Remove to wire racks to cool
