Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. Cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Allpurpose flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 3 c. Water

Direcciones

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking pwdr, soda and sugar. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or possibly two knives. Add in the buttermilk and knead till smooth and pliable. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to the desired thickness or possibly about 1/2 inch.
  2. Cut with a biscuit cutter and place in a baking pan. Bake for about 12 min or possibly till brown on top.
  3. In a saucepan combine the cocoa, sugar, flour, vanilla and water. Cook over medium heat till it boils. The mix will slowly thicken. Cook for about 10 min. Pour over buttered warm biscuits.
  4. Serves 10.
