Receta Granola
I've always liked granola - the flavor, the texture, but I've never made my own. . . until now. I'm glad that it's quick and easy because there can be no going back. The homemade version far outshines store bought. Everything just tasted fresher, the flavors brighter, the texture chewier. Fresh out of the oven, it was positively addicting.
Since it's agreed that I'll be making this again, let me say that it will probably never be exactly the same twice. Like soup, or a casserole, it will consist of whatever happens to be on hand on a given day. It will become the great, delicious pantry-cleaner-outer. Just a few golden raisins left in the bag? Toss 'em in. What to do with some leftover oat bran? Granola!
Ingredients
- 2 cups oats
- 2 cups mixed nuts and dried fruit
- 1/2 cup flax seed, ground

- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 1/3 cup brown sugar

Mix together the oats, nuts, fruit, flax, salt, cinnamon, and ginger
Pour the honey and oil over the mixture and toss to coat evenly
Melt brown sugar over medium heat

Spread granola out on a parchment covered sheet pan, bake for about 10 minutes, things should look toasted but not burnt
