Ingredientes

  • While not overwhelming in flavor, this combination is unique. And it's definitely an excuse to add in a sprinkling of hazelnuts to your plate in summer.
  • 1 lb green beans, ends trimmed Salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grated orange zest
  • 1/3 c. (about 2 ounces) minced toasted hazelnuts*

Direcciones

  1. In a large saucepan, bring about 2 qts of water to a boil. Add in the beans and salt to taste and cook, uncovered, till the beans are tender yet retain some bite, 4 to 5 min. Drain the beans; pat them dry. (If you are not using them immediately, cold them under cool running water. Wrap the beans in a kitchen towel and leave at room temperature for as long as 3 hrs.)
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, heat the butter. Add in the beans and a healthy pinch of salt. Cook, stirring often, till the beans are heated through, about 3 min. Remove from the heat, add in the orange zest and toss to combine. Add in the hazelnuts and toss again. Serve immediately.
  3. eNote: To toast nuts, spread them on a baking sheet and place them in a 350-degree oven, shaking the pan occasionally, for 8 to 10 min. Watch carefully because nuts will burn quickly.
