Ingredientes

  • 10 green chilies, roasted & peeled (canned chili may be used)
  • 10 ounce. Longhorn cheese or possibly Monterey Jack cheese
  • Batter
  • Warm oil or possibly lard

Direcciones

  1. Cut cheese into slices 1/2 inch thick and the length of the chili. Make a small slit in chili just big sufficient to insert cheese. Dip in batter and fry in warm oil or possibly lard till golden. Drain and serve. May be garnished with green chili sauce if you like.
  2. To make batter, combine flour, baking pwdr, salt and cornmeal. Blend lowfat milk with egg, then combine lowfat milk and egg mix with the dry ingredients. Add in more lowfat milk if necessary for smooth batter. Using a spoon, dip stuffed chilies in batter. 5 servings.
