Ingredientes

  • 2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 x Onion, minced
  • 12 x Cloves
  • 1/2 x Cinnamon stick, broken
  • 500 gm Continental masoor, (green lentils) (1lb)
  • 450 ml Vegetable stock, ( 3/4pint)
  • 900 ml Water, (1 1/2pints)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt Grated zest and juice of 1 1/2 lemons
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli pwdr

Direcciones

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over a medium-low heat and fry the onion for 5-10 min, till it begins to brown, stirring occasionally.
  2. Stir in the cloves and cinnamon and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add in the lentils and cook for 5 min, stirring occasionally. Add in the stock, water, salt, stir well, cover and simmer for 30 min.
  4. Add in the lemon juice, then toss in the zest and chilli pwdr.
  5. Re-cover and cook for another 50 min, till the lentils are tender.
