Ingredientes

  • 3 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Black or possibly yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 pch Grnd asafetida, optional
  • 3 x Dry, warm red chilies
  • 1 sm Onion, peeled and cut into fine half rings
  • 2 cl Garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 med Sized tomato, minced
  • 1 c. Whole green lentils
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Grnd coriander
  • 1/2 c. Minced fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 c. Minced fresh mint

Direcciones

  1. Put the oil in a pressure cooler and set over medium-high heat. When the oil is warm, put in the cumin and mustard seeds. As soon as the mustard seeds begin to pop, this takes just a few seconds, put in the asafetida and the red chilies. Stir once. Put in the onion, garlic, and tomato. Stir for about 2 min or possibly till the onion browns a bit. Now put in the lentils, 3 1/2 c. water, salt, grnd coriander, cilantro, and mint. Stir and bring to a simmer. Cover, turn the heat to high, and bring up to pressure. Turn the heat down low and cold at full pressure for 15 min. Take off the heat and reduce the pressure with cold water. Stir and serve.
