Receta Grilled Chicken Breasts with Honey Mustard Glaze, August Menus and Smut
by Katie Zeller

Did you know corn smut was edible?

First my tomatoes have blight, now my corn has smut.

I grabbed some gardening books to read on the way to our bike ride today to see what I could do about corn smut.

That’s when I learned that it’s edible.

Actually, what the book said was that the corn that was infected by corn smut is perfectly okay to eat and even the smut was edible.

Do not look for recipes for corn smut on this blog anytime soon….

How about another recipe featuring mustard instead?

Grilled Chicken Breasts with Honey Mustard Glaze

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

2 tbs Dijon-style mustard

Instructions:

In small bowl mix all ingredients except chicken.

Spoon over chicken and let marinate for 10 – 20 minutes.

Cook chicken on barbecue grill for 7 – 10 minutes per side, or until done, basting with marinade sauce. Stop basting 5 minutes before chicken is done.

Remove, slice and serve.

And in other, more positive news, the final book in the series of Summer Menus is finished and available to buy. The link for Amazon is here: August Weekly Menus. It’s also available for other e-readers (iPad, Nook, etc)

‘August’ has 5 weeks of menus, recipes and shopping lists to finish the summer and make the most of all the wonderful late season produce.

If you are looking for a few more grilling ideas or recipes for pasta salads or how to use that overflowing bag from the market…. This could help.

Have a look.

No recipes for corn smut, though…. Promise.

Tomorrow, after I fuss with the tomatoes to try to save them from blight I can fuss with the corn and try to save it from smut.

I don’t think I was meant to be a farmer.
