Receta Gumdrop Cookies
The Adoption Boutique that I held at my house this weekend was not as successful as I had hoped. I handed out 300 invitations, and had 11 people show up.
I'm not going to lie, that was pretty discouraging. Not because I have a room full of hair clips, vinyl lettering, and home decor left. But because I have a pile of pass along cards that I didn't get to hand out. Cards that could have ended up in the hands of someone who could help us complete our family. I'm just hoping that of the other 289 people, at least a few of them were made aware of our adoption plan, and that if they ever hear of a birth mother, they will remember our family. Because we know our prayers can only be answered if our birth mother can find us.
I am extremely grateful for the 11 friends that came, offered their support, and were willing to talk adoption. It meant the world to me!!Now that the Boutique is over, I can focus on other things. Like, um, Christmas. It's coming up fast! We deliver homemade goodies to our neighbors, and I like to get an early start, so I will be doing a lot of baking this week. I love trying new recipes, and I've got at least a dozen bookmarked. I tried these gumdrop cookies several weeks ago, and we loved them. The beaten egg whites make them a little different from most cookies, and I thought they were delicious. They are so festive with the red and green gumdrops, they made a perfect Christmas cookie. And of course they are a hit with the kids!
