Receta Ham and Swiss Grilled Cheese and We Have a Winner for the Chef Boyardee Prize Pack
Let’s talk fashion.
How often have you gone shopping to purchase a sweater that looks exactly the same as one you already have at home?
My bet is not very often. It makes sense. I’ve never tried it, but I think it would get dull (and mess with other people's heads) if you put on the same outfit every day.
Cooking can get as boring as wearing the same sweater every day if you prepare the same dishes the same way 90 to 100 percent of the time.
Unfortunately that’s what I do each time I make a grilled cheese sandwich. It's like I go on auto cooking pilot when I make the damn thing. I never thought of how BORING it was until I saw this Grilled Ham and Swiss Cheese Sandwich recipe in an old food magazine.
Instead of spreading the same ole butter on the outside of the bread, you brush it with egg (sort of like French toast) and rather than leaving the inside of the bread plain and blah, you spread on tasty horseradish mustard! It so good with the ham and melted Swiss cheese.
What I really loved was it got me excited about cooking a grilled cheese sandwich, which I never thought would actually happen.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
2 slices good quality bread

Thinly spread 1 side of each bread slice with mustard. Top one slice of bread with ham and cheese. Top with remaining bread slice, mustard side down, to form sandwich.
In a small bowl, whisk together egg and black pepper. Brush both sides of sandwich with egg mixture.
In a non-stick skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add sandwich. Cover with lid and cook until bread is golden brown on the outside, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
