During my university years, cooking a cheesecake was never in the cards. Not enough resources, too many distractions (parties) and lack of determination. Also the fridge was so stocked with beer and leftover pizza there wasn’t enough room in it to fit a cheesecake anyway. I suspect many of you living on your own for the first time or attending university/college feel the same way. So what do you do if you absolutely love cheesecake and don’t want to spend a fortune buying it?

Enter the Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake! It’s a recipe I adapted from the 2011 Ontario Foodland calendar. It's a delicious cheesecake you can slurp until you get your hands on one you can eat!

Making milkshakes is about having fun so a song selection such as Sheryl Crows’ “All I Wanna Do…(Is Have Some Fun)” would certainly be fitting for this cooking experience. Select your blender, hand blender or Magic Bullet of choice and blend all the ingredients together. If you’re on a date, do this shake up right by topping it with whipped cream and chopped strawberries. It’ll give it that extra piece of visual flair that shows you care! Have fun!!!
