- Soften yeast in 1/2 c. hot water. Heat butter, lowfat milk, sugar and salt till sugar dissolves. Cold to lukewarm. Stir in 2 c. flour and beat well. Add in yeast mix, 2 Large eggs and beat again. Stir in sufficient flour to make a soft dough. Knead 8-10 min. Shape into ball.
- Place in greased bowl, turn once, and cover. Let rise, in a hot place, to double, approximately 1 1/4 hrs. Punch down. Divide into 3rds. Cover, let rest 10 min. Make 18 inch braids. Let rise again to double, approximately 30 min. Brush with egg yolk and 1 Tbsp. water. Sprinkle with sesame or possibly poppy seeds and bake at 375 in a preheated oven for 45-50 min.
