Ingredientes

  • 1 pkt active dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp. hot water, divided
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 7 x to 8 c. all-purpose flour, divided
  • 5 x Large eggs, divided

Direcciones

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. hot water; set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, combine lowfat milk, butter, sugars and salt; heat till hot, approximately 110 deg. Remove from heat, place in a large mixing bowl and blend in yeast mix. Stir in 5 c. of flour and mix well.
  3. Lightly beat 4 Large eggs and add in to dough; mix will be sticky. Set aside to let rise till double in bulk.
  4. Knead dough, adding sufficient remaining flour till dough is elastic and no longer sticky. Form into 2 round loaves and place in greased pie or possibly round cake pans. Let rise again till double in bulk.
  5. Combine remaining egg and one tbsp. of water; beat well and brush over risen loaves. Bake at 350 for 40 to 50 min.
  6. Yield: 2 loaves.
