...Let%20me%20tell%20ya%20who%20won%20the%20$30%20Willow%20House%20Giveaway....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet's%20give%20Joanna%20a%20big%20round%20of%20applause!%20Woooo%20hooooo!!!%20(whistles,%20cheers,%20hurrays)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20want%20to%20thank%20Michele%20for%20allowing%20me%20to%20host%20such%20a%20fun%20giveaway!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20now%20for%20the%20other%20half...the%20food%20half%20of%20this%20post.%20I've%20been%20a%20little%20slow%20in%20the%20bread%20area%20of%20my%20cooking%20/%20baking.%20I%20haven't%20had%20the%20time%20or....energy%20to%20really%20dig%20into%20the%20past%20couple%20of%20assignments.%20Not%20that%20Healthy%20Bread%20in%205%20Minutes%20a%20Day%20takes%20much%20time%20or%20energy%20but%20between%20the%20Pom%20Wonderful%20Dinner%20Party,%20Cupcake%20Camp%20LA%20and%20Thanksgiving,%20all%20within%203%20weeks%20of%20each%20other....I%20had%20my%20hands%20full.%20Not%20that%20I%20didn't%20enjoy%20every%20minute%20of%20everything%20I%20was%20doing%20and%20created%20some%20great%20memories%20and%20awesome%20experiences.%20But,%20it%20just%20didn't%20leave%20much%20room%20for%20venturing%20into%20new%20bread.%20I%20mean,%20I%20did%20make%20some%20bread%20for%20the%20dinner%20party%20and%20in%20between...just%20nothing%20from%20the%20new%20assignments.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBtw...just%20in%20case%20you're%20new%20on%20the%20block....HBin5%20is%20an%20online%20bread%20baking%20braid%20(group)%20that%20I%20participate%20in,%20hosted%20by%20Michelle%20over%20at%20Big%20Black%20Dogs.%20If%20you'd%20like%20to%20check%20it%20out%20and%20see%20what%20it's%20all%20about,%20(and%20please%20do,%20I%20highly%20recommend%20it.%20We%20still%20have%20a%20year%20to%20go%20in%20our%20baking%20adventures%20and%20you're%20all%20invited%20to%20join%20in,%20anytime)%20click%20------%3EHERE%3C-----------%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh%20boy...I%20just%20realized%20that%20this%20particular%20bread....Tabbouleh%20Bread%20with%20Parsly,%20Garlic%20and%20Bulgur%20is%20from%20a%20month%20ago%20and%20I%20totally%20missed%20the%20assignment%20from%20the%2015th%20(not%20sure%20if%20I'll%20get%20to%20that%20or%20just%20begin%20on%20the%20Dec.%201st%20assignment%20next)....but%20either%20way...better%20late%20than%20never.%20I%20have%20to%20say,%20this%20bread%20was%20worth%20the%20wait.%20So%20glad%20it%20was%20late%20rather%20than%20never.%20I%20love%20the%20aroma....garlic,%20onions,%20and%20parsley,%20along%20with%20the%20earthiness%20of%20bulgur%20wheat...YUM!%20I%20have%20to%20say%20I%20was%20surprised%20that%20it%20didn't%20brown%20more.%20But,%20hey...with%20all%20those%20flavors,%20you%20don't%20sweat%20the%20little%20things,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20dough%20made%20beautiful%20buns%20regardless.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20want%20to%20take%20a%20quick%20moment%20to%20say%20how%20useful%20Facebook%20can%20be.%20You%20see,%20this%20was%20my%20first%20experience%20with%20bulgur%20wheat%20and%20I%20really%20didn't%20need%20that%20much%20for%20the%20dough%20(I've%20got%20lots%20left%20over).%20I%20asked%20my%20friends%20on%20Facebook%20what%20I%20could%20make%20with%20bulgur%20(besides%20tabbouleh)%20and%20I%20got%20a%20whole%20slew%20of%20wonderful%20ideas!%20One%20of%20them%20being%20to%20make%20Kibbeh.%20Kibbeh?%20(I%20asked)....What's%20Kibbeh?%20After%20a%20shared%20recipe%20and%20a%20little%20research,%20I%20found%20that%20it%20is%20a%20Lebanese%20dish%20similar%20(though%20not%20exactly)%20to%20meatloaf...only%20more%20interesting.%20%20Problem%20is,%20I'm%20not%20a%20meatloaf%20fan%20(I%20know,%20I%20know...so%20very%20unamerican%20of%20me).%20Or%20a%20fan%20of%20large%20masses%20of%20ground%20meat%20in%20any%20form.%20That's%20when%20I%20decided%20to%20make%20the%20meat%20recipe%20into%20burgers%20(though%20I%20did%20find%20out%20I'm%20not%20the%20first%20person%20to%20think%20of%20this).%20The%20results%20were%20wonderful!%20Flavorful!%20Delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20not%20claiming%20that%20this%20recipe%20is%20authentic.%20It%20seems%20that%20Kibbeh%20recipes%20vary%20as%20much%20as%20meatloaf%20recipes%20do%20(with%20a%20few%20common%20threads)....I%20did%20adjust%20my%20version%20a%20bit%20to%20suit%20my%20families%20tastes.%20(I%20have%20to%20admit%20that%20I%20didn't%20tell%20anyone%20what%20they%20were%20eating%20until%20afterward....I%20hate%20preconceived%20taste%20bud%20notions).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKibbeh%20Burger%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20food%20processor,%20process%20the%20onions%20until%20finely%20chopped.%20Add%20the%20meat%20and%201/2%20cup%20water,%20salt,%20pepper,%20cumin%20and%20allspice.%20Process%20until%20smooth.%20Add%20the%20bulgur%20wheat,%20parsley%20and%20pine%20nuts....mix%20briefly.%20Form%20into%206%20patties%20and%20cook%20as%20you%20normally%20would%20any%20other%20burger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeanwhile,%20I%20mixed%20a%20little%20mayonnaise%20with%20some%20garlic,%20green%20onion%20and%20lemon%20juice%20to%20spread%20on%20my%20Tabbouleh%20Burger%20Buns,%20after%20they%20were%20toasted%20a%20bit%20of%20course%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20little%20cheese,%20lettuce%20and%20tomatoes%20and%20you%20have%20a%20filling,%20tasty,%20if%20slightly%20different,%20kind%20of%20burger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20see%20that%20cheese%20there?%20Like%20I%20mentioned%20earlier...it's%20called%20halloumi.%20Its%20a%20very%20mild,%20almost%20crumbly,%20a%20little%20dense,%20kinda%20soft,%20not%20so%20hard%20cheese%20made%20from%20a%20mixture%20of%20goats%20milk%20and%20sheeps%20milk%20(man....it's%20all%20over%20the%20cheese%20spectrum).%20It's%20suppose%20to%20be%20great%20for%20grilling%20and%20frying%20since%20it%20holds%20up%20to%20heat%20really%20well.%20Halloumi%20can%20be%20found%20in%20Middle%20Eastern%20markets%20in%20case%20you'd%20like%20to%20check%20it%20out.%20I%20like%20it...and%20am%20thinking%20it%20would%20be%20great%20for%20breading%20and%20deep%20frying%20instead%20of%20mozzarella%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20don't%20go%20too%20far%20away.%20I%20have%20a%20couple%20more%20giveaways%20up%20my%20sleeve%20coming%20your%20way%20real%20soon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20my%20entry%20into%20Hearth%20and%20Soul%20Blog%20Hop%20this%20week.%20I%20hope%20you%20take%20a%20moment%20to%20hop%20around%20and%20see%20what%20everyone's%20been%20up%20to.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
