%20%20(I%20must%20apologize%20for%20my%20pictures.%20%20It's%20a%20very%20overcast%20and%20gloomy%20day%20today%20and%20I%20couldn't%20get%20a%20great%20photo%20at%20all.%20%20I%20like%20to%20use%20natural%20light%20as%20much%20as%20possible)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Cheesy%20Tuna%20and%20Hearts%20of%20Palm%20Tart*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20one%20large%20tart,%20serving%20approx%206%20people%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20just%20something%20I%20kind%20of%20threw%20together.%20%20It%20turned%20out%20to%20be%20delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20box%20of%20ready%20rolled%20puff%20pastry%20(In%20the%20chiller%20section%20of%20the%20grocery%20store.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Echeese%20mixture%20to%20cover.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20together%20the%20flaked%20tuna,%20sliced%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehearts%20of%20palm,%20pickled%20peppers,%20red%20onion%20and%20sliced%20olives.%20%20Sprinkle%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethis%20mixture%20over%20top%20of%20the%20cheese,%20evenly.%20%20Sprinkle%20with%20a%20light%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edusting%20of%20Parmesan%20Cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20in%20the%20heated%20oven%20for%2010%20to%2015%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eminutes%20until%20puffed%20and%20golden%20brown.%20%20Cut%20into%20squares%20to%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20hot%20or%20cold.%20%20Delicious%20either%20way.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20the%20other%20tin%20I%20debated%20on%20whether%20I%20would%20make%20a%20soup%20or%20a%20salad.%20%20I%20finally%20decided%20on%20the%20salad.%20%20I%20thought%20that%20these%20tasty%20hearts%20of%20palm%20would%20be%20delicious%20with%20streaky%20bacon%20wrapped%20around%20them%20(kind%20of%20like%20you%20do%20around%20asparagus%20spears)%20and%20then%20roasted%20until%20the%20bacon%20was%20crisp.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20laid%20them%20out%20onto%20salad%20greens,%20topped%20them%20with%20an%20Italian%20Vinaigrette%20and%20some%20Parmesan%20cheese%20and%20wowsa%20wowsa%20.%20.%20.%20a%20new%20favourite%20was%20born!%20%20I'm%20almost%20ashamed%20to%20call%20this%20a%20recipe%20as%20it%20was%20so%20simple%20to%20do,%20but%20I%20put%20it%20down%20in%20recipe%20form%20anyways%20for%20continuity.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20really%20good%20too.%20%20%20Todd's%20not%20really%20a%20salad%20man,%20but%20he%20sure%20enjoyed%20just%20eating%20them%20as%20they%20were%20with%20the%20bacon%20wrapped%20around%20them,%20all%20crisp%20and%20salty.%20%20I%20can%20imagine%20that%20proscuitto%20%20or%20Parma%20ham%20would%20also%20be%20fabulous%20wrapped%20around%20them!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Bacon%20and%20Hearts%20of%20Palm%20Salad*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%20-%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20rather%20good%20if%20I%20don't%20say%20so%20myself.%20%20I%20quite%20liked%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20400g%20tin%20of%20hearts%20of%20palm,%20well%20drained%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esliced%20streaky%20bacon,%20enough%20for%201%20slice%20per%20heart%20of%20palm%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20cups%20of%20mixed%20salad%20leaves%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EItalian%20Vinaigrette%20salad%20dressing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efreshly%20grated%20Parmesan%20Cheese%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20220*C/425*F/%20gas%20mark%206.%20%20Line%20a%20rimmed%20baking%20sheet%20with%20tinfoil.%20%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eyour%20drained%20hearts%20of%20palm%20and%20wrap%20one%20rasher%20of%20streaky%20bacon%20around%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eeach,%20slightly%20stretching%20it%20as%20you%20go.%20%20Place%20each%20onto%20the%20prepared%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebaking%20sheet.%20%20Bake%20the%20bacon%20wrapped%20palm%20hearts%20in%20the%20preheated%20oven%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Euntil%20the%20bacon%20is%20nicely%20crisped.%20Remove%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20drain%20on%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebit%20of%20%20paper%20kitchen%20toweling.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDivide%20your%20salad%20leaves%20amongst%204%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%206%20chilled%20salad%20plates.%20%20Top%20each%20with%20one%20or%20two%20bacon%20wrapped%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehearts%20of%20palm.%20%20Drizzle%20with%20Italian%20dressing%20and%20dust%20a%20few%20sprinkles%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eof%20Parmesan%20cheese%20over%20top.%20%20Serve%20immediately.%20%20Delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20would%20have%20to%20say%20that%20we%20both%20agree%20that%20these%20are%20a%20delicious%20vegetable.%20%20(I'm%20not%20sure%20if%20you%20could%20call%20them%20a%20vegetable,%20but%20that's%20what%20I%20am%20calling%20them.)%20%20I%20think%20I%20am%20going%20to%20be%20buying%20another%20few%20tins%20to%20have%20on%20hand.%20%20I%20do%20want%20to%20make%20a%20soup%20with%20them%20as%20I%20think%20they%20would%20make%20a%20fantastic%20soup%20and%20to%20be%20honest%20.%20.%20.%20I%20quite,%20quite%20enjoyed%20just%20eating%20it%20like%20you%20would%20a%20carrot%20stick,%20etc.%20%20I%20am%20thinking%20they%20would%20make%20a%20fabulous%20hot%20dip%20as%20well!%20%20(with%20cheese%20and%20garlic,%20and%20oh%20my%20.%20.%20.%20my%20taste%20buds%20are%20tingling%20now!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMany%20thanks%20to%20the%20cooks%20&%20co%20people%20and%20to%20Simon%20for%20sending%20me%20these%20to%20try.%20%20They%20are%20available%20in%20most%20food%20shops%20at%20%C2%A31.99%20a%20tin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%
