%20with%20a%20even%20coating%20of%20cooking%20spray.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20one%20large%20saucepan,%20I%20added%202%20cups%20of%20the%20sugar,%201%201/3%20cup%20applesauce,%20red%20gelatin,2%20packages%20unflavored%20gelatin%20and%201%20tsp%20lemon%20juice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20second%20large%20saucepan,%20I%20added%20the%20same%20ingredients%20with%20the%20same%20measurements,except%20using%20green%20gelatin.%20Letting%20both%20mixtures%20stand%20for%201%20minute%20each.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20brought%20the%20mixture%20to%20a%20boil%20over%20medium%20heat,stirring%20constantly%20using%20a%20wooden%20spoon.%20Boiled%20them%20both%20for%201%20minute.%20Then%20I%20quickly%20poured%20each%20mixture%20into%20the%20greased%20baking%20dishes.%20Then%20I%20refrigerated%20the%20gelatin%20for%203%20hours%20or%20until%20firm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20used%20a%20spatula%20to%20loosen%20the%20gelatin%20from%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20pan%20and%20inverted%20the%20gelatin%20onto%20the%20wax%20paper.%20Then%20I%20used%20my%20small%20seasonal%20cookie%20cutters,dipping%20them%20in%20warm%20water%20to%20cut%20shapes%20into%20the%20jello.%20Gently%20releasing%20them%20and%20placing%20them%20onto%20large%20cookie%20sheets%20lined%20with%20wax%20paper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20let%20them%20dry%20overnight%20at%20room%20temperature,covered%20loosely.%20Then%20I%20placed%20the%20shapes%20in%20a%20large%20bowl%20with%20the%20remaining%20sugar%20and%20gently%20rolled%20them%20in%20sugar.%20Then%20I%20store%20them%20in%20an%20airtight%20container.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGelatin%20can%20be%20difficult%20to%20remove.%20So%20I%20filled%20the%20sink%20with%20hot%20water,%20then%20slowly%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eplace%20the%20pan%20in%20hot%20water%20for%20a%20few%20seconds%20just%20hitting%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebottom%20of%20the%20pan%20to%20help%20release%20the%20jello.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20gelatin%20can%20also%20be%20easily%20cut%20into%20shapes%20while%20its%20still%20in%20the%20pan%20and%20the%20left%20behind%20scraps,I%20used%20to%20create%20odd%20shapes%20and%20rolled%20them%20in%20sugar%20as%20well.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
