Receta HOMEMADE CROCK POT APPLESAUCE
Posted on December 9, 2013 by The Southern Lady
This homemade appleasauce is so much better than the bought. It is great in recipes for muffins, pancakes and cakes, too. You can increase or decrease the spices to suit yourself.
- 10 medium sized apples, peeled and cored, cut up in pieces (I used Red Delicious for this one but you could use about any kind of apple)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
- 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
Place apples in crock pot. Mix together water, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom and honey with a wire whisk. Pour over apples. Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or high 4 hours. Great as a side dish for any meal. Will keep at least two weeks or longer in the fridge. Makes about 1 1/2 quarts. Enjoy!
(Note: You can mash up the apples in the cooked sauce if you want to make it smoother. We like it chunky and I like the chunky better for using in recipes.)
