Homemade Enchilada Sauce

Ingredientes

  • 1 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil, or possibly lard
  • 1/2 tsp Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne, or possibly to taste
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 x Clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. Chicken broth
  • 1/2 c. Tomato puree, to 1 c.
  • 1 Tbsp. Lime juice

Direcciones

  1. In a large heavy skillet saute/fry the flour and oil over medium heat for 1 minute. Add in herbs and spices and garlic. Cook 1 more minute, and then add in broth, tomatoe puree and lime juice. Raise heat to high and boil, stirring constantly till thickened.
