Receta Homemade Granola
Homemade Granola
One of things that we really like to eat in the evening is a yogurt parfait. I usually just grab my usual box of granola whenever I am at the store without thinking too much about it. Then I looked at the price one day…holy cannoli! I couldn’t believe how much a box of granola was! So I set about making my own, which is so easy and so much more economical, plus you can control what ingredients you put in it.
This is just a “base” to start from. You could certainly add raisins, craisins, coconut, chocolate chips (after baking), or any kind of nuts that you have on hand…
Homemade Granola
Yield: 5 cups
Ingredients:
- 4 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup walnuts-chopped
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside. In a medium bowl, mix the oats and nuts (or whatever else you use). In a small bowl, whisk the canola oil and honey together and pour over the oats/nuts mixture. Spread out evenly on baking sheet.
Bake for about 20 minutes, stirring half way through and making sure it doesn't burn toward the end. Let cool, then break apart and store in an airtight container.
