Receta Homemade Lemonade Recipe
So I have a lot of requests for a good Lemonade recipe. In fact I would even go as far to say this recipe even tastes a lot like Chick Fil A, but clearly this isn’t a copy cat recipe for Chick Fil A lemonade, but I bet if you taste it, you will think it’s a pretty good stab at their recipe.
My first memory of lemonade was at those old Hot Dog On a Stick restaurants. I can remember moving to Colorado in the 70s as a child. My Dad was a controller at Montgomery Ward, and we moved their to open Pueblo, Colorado’s first shopping mall. There they had a Hot Dog on a Stick restaurant. I actually think this is where I first tried a corn dog, and fresh lemonade.
To be honest corn dogs have never tasted so good, well except those made in a Wal Mart parking lot, but I don’t they do that anymore. You might know you are from East Texas if you remember those… Lemonade, yes, that’s what we are talking about here, the lemonade was amazing. Growing up beverages that we made came out of packages and you combined those with sugar and water.
We are going to start out with a simple syrup for this lemonade recipe. We are going to combine sugar, and water, and a pinch of salt (it’s my secret ingredient), and we are going to boil the simple syrup. Now if you watch my video my water looks a little darker. I like to use organic cane sugar, and it isn’t pristine white. While sugar may not be the healthiest of ingredients, I feel better if it is organic, this may be delusional on my part, but it does make me feel better using sugar.
We are going to let our simple syrup cool, and then use it to make the lemonade. It is that simple. By boiling our water and sugar together we are going to get a nice mixture where the sugar doesn’t separate back out. The salt helps bring out the flavor of the lemons just a bit. I do not have a version for alternative sweeteners. For this recipe I urge you to do it old school, you only need fresh lemons, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
My recipe makes 1 serving, the recipe is for 2 servings. Multiple the ingredients by how many people that you have. By the way, if you don’t have fresh lemons, you can use bottled juice, but you didn’t get that from me ….
