Receta Homemade Pizza
Pizza Party! Such an easy party to throw, whether it be for your kid’s birthday party, a party with your friends, a fun family night or super bowl. I’m not talking about dialing up the local pizza joint for a quick delivery either, I’m talking about the fresh and wonderful taste of homemade pizza. This month’s Recipe Redux theme is about sharing our favorite homemade and healthy pizza recipe. Healthy pizza? How can that be? Homemade pizza can be healthy especially when you have control of the ingredients. I make pizza often, so I was excited when I read about the challenge this month, and just in time to get some good ideas for the Super Bowl party. Pizza night is an event for us. Everyone has some input; giving suggestions for their favorite toppings. Homemade pizza crust may seem difficult and time consuming to prepare, but it really isn’t once you get used to making it. And it’s well worth the effort and time. I usually make a double batch and freeze for pizza nights when I don’t have the time to make the dough. Although we are always putting new combinations together, I have two favorites which are: totally veggie – my attempt to use up as many veggies from my fridge as I can; and the one I’m sharing today, Mediterranean Pizza. It is topped with artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, spinach and feta cheese. Once you get used to eating homemade pizza you’ll never order takeout again!

Let dough sit in a warm place for 45 minutes – it should double in size

Divide dough in half and begin to shape one of the dough balls into a circle by stretching it. If you like thin crust use a rolling to continue to flatten the crust.
