Ingredientes

  • 5 lbs. fresh collard greens
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 lg. onion, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 to 3 c. of water
  • 1/2 pound smoked turkey (diced)
  • 4 jalapeno peppers, cut off stems
  • 2 tbsp. sugar

Direcciones

  1. Wash greens several times in cool water to remove all grits. Remove and throw away stems. Cut greens crosswise into 1 inch strips. In large pot, heat oil; saute/fry onion and garlic. Stir in water, turkey, jalapeno peppers and sugar. Simmer about 5 min. Add in greens; cover; cook over low heat till tender. About 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.
