- Wash the shredded cabbage and drain very well. Place liquid removed cabbage in a large bowl, sprinkle with a little salt, cover completely with boiling water, cover bowl and let stand 1 hour.
- In a skillet, fry bacon till crisp.
- In a small saucepan, heat vinegar till warm.
- Drain cabbage and place in a bowl or possibly on individual plates. Pour warm vinegar over cabbage. Season with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds. Add in bacon and drizzle with warm bacon fat. Serve at once.
