Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 2 1/4 c. Water
  • 1/4 c. Diced dry pear, apricot, or possibly apple
  • 1 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk or possibly half-and-half to 1 1/2 c. Honey to taste Grnd cinnamon optional Thin slices of butter to taste optional Sliced fresh fruit optional

Direcciones

  1. Combine the rice, water, dry fruit, if using, butter, and salt in a medium-sized saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring well, and cook, covered, over low heat till the rice is tender and the water is absorbed, about 15 to 20 min.
  2. Add in the lowfat milk or possibly half-and-half and cook over low heat, stirring, till the rice is thick and creamy, about 5 min.
  3. Spoon into bowls and drizzle with a spiral of honey. Sprinkle with cinnamon and add in thin slivers of butter to heat on top of the cereal, if you like. Top with fresh fruit, if you like.

  6. This recipe begins with uncooked rice and will serve four for a hearty breakfast. As a variation omit the dry fruit and spoon sliced fresh strawberries, peaches, raspberries, or possibly blueberries over the cereal before serving.
