A Great Burger – Clean&Delicious®

When it comes to a great Clean & Delicious Burger, less is more.

Less effort + less ingredients = a great juicy burger.

There are a few essential steps to making a simple and insanely-delicious burger. Here’s what you need to know:

Buy good quality meat. I recommend buying grass-feed ground sirloin for burgers. I know most people use chuck but sirloin has more flavor and is leaner which makes it the perfect combo for a clean & delicious burger.

Minimal man-handling. The secret to a nice juicy burger is to leave the meat alone. Not only when it’s in the pan but when it comes to seasoning as well. So I take my meat out of the package, section it off and then season. No mixing involved.

Season generously. Salt and pepper is really all thats needed but I can’t help but give it a sprinkle of garlic powder too. Adding the seasoning to the outside of the burger creates a little salt and pepper crust that is unbeatable.

A hot pan. You want to have your pan (or your grill) nice and hot to get the sear. Oh the sear!

Let it be. We’ve already touched on this but its pretty important, once the meat is in the pan it only needs to be touched once and thats when its time to flip. Other than that, let it be.

Easy enough, right?

How To Make A Great Burger

Yield: Serves 4

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 8 minutes

Total Time: 13 minutes

Ingredients:

Directions:

Place meat into a bowl and use your hand to create four equal sections (see video for an example).

Grab each section and loosely form 4 burger patties, remember, the goal is to handle the meat as little as possible. Season one side of the burger generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Heat the heaviest sauté pan you have over a medium high heat and add the butter to the pan.

Once the butter has melted and the pan is hot add the burger seasoned-side down and set your timer for 4-minutes. While the burger is cooking, season the opposite side of the burger. Do nit touch the burger while it is cooking. No squishing, patting, or mashing allowed!

Flip the burger at the four minute mark and then cook for another 3-4 minutes (3 for medium rare and 4 for medium).

Once the burger is done remove from the pan and serve on your favorite bun with your favorite burger toppings. Enjoy!
