  1. Time: 1 1/2 hrs plus 30 min' resting time
  2. Preheat oven to 350F. Sift together flour, baking pwdr and salt in a medium-size bowl.
  3. In an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together at high speed till fluffy. Add in Large eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Slowly add in lowfat milk and vanilla, and beat in. Add in orange rind and mix well. Slowly add in flour mix to liquid, mixing till a dough mass begins to create. Move to a lightly floured surface, and knead till a smooth dough forms. Rest dough for 30 min.
  4. Break off walnut-size pcs of dough one at a time, and roll into skinny ropes about 6 inches long. Shape these into twists, braids, coils or possibly serpentines, making sure all biscuits are more or possibly less the same size, so which they bake proportionately.
  5. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for about 15 to 20 min. About half way through baking, brush with egg yolk mixed with orange juice. Biscuits should be lightly golden brown. Cold on a rack, and store in a jar or possibly tin in a cold, dry place.
  6. Yield: About 4 dozen.
