%20with%20garlic%20and%20olive%20oil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20something%20so%20incredibly%20simple,%20it's%20amazing%20how%20much%20of%20an%20impression%20this%20dish%20can%20make.%20My%20boyfriend,%20Chris,%20and%20his%20friends%20for%20one,%20adore%20this%20dish%20with%20such%20passion%20that%20I%20don't%20think%20there%20has%20been%20a%20gathering%20where%20the%20suggestion%20of%20making%20it%20hasn't%20come%20up.%20I've%20lost%20count%20of%20the%20number%20of%20times%20they%20have%20disputed%20who%20makes%20the%20best%20aglio%20e%20olio,%20or%20what%20little%20detail%20makes%20their%20aglio%20e%20olio%20stand%20out,%20because%20with%20a%20dish%20this%20straightforward%20it%20really%20is%20all%20in%20the%20details!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDespite%20everyone%20thinking%20that%20their%20aglio%20e%20olio%20is%20the%20best,%20I%20have%20to%20give%20the%20top%20award%20to%20my%20dear%20lovely%20Ina%20Garten,%20because%20well,%20Ina%20knows%20best!%20When%20Chris%20first%20came%20across%20this%20recipe%20we%20were%20skeptical%20whether%20the%20method%20made%20any%20sense.%20It%20seemed%20incredibly%20strange%20to%20firstly,%20begin%20the%20whole%20process%20by%20cooking%20the%20pasta,%20secondly,%20to%20cook%20the%20garlic%20in%20so%20much%20pasta%20water%20(1%201/2%20cups!).%20We%20were%20imagining%20noodles%20drowning%20in%20bland%20garlic%20water.%20How%20dare%20I%20distrust%20my%20dear%20future-best-friend,%20Ina!%20I%20should%20have%20known%20that%20Ina%20always%20knows%20best!%20Of%20course%20Ina's%20take%20on%20aglio%20e%20olio%20was%20absolutely%20fantastic,%20and%20quickly%20became%20my%20boyfriend%20and%20I's%20go-to%20dinner!%20The%20addition%20of%20the%20pasta%20water,%20reduced%20to%20enhance%20the%20flavour%20of%20the%20garlic,%20prevented%20us%20from%20feeling%20like%20we%20had%20to%20douse%20our%20pasta%20in%20cups%20of%20olive%20oil%20to%20impart%20flavour,%20as%20well%20as%20helping%20the%20olive%20oil%20and%20garlic%20sauce%20to%20stick%20to%20the%20noodles,%20thanks%20to%20the%20starch%20in%20the%20cooking%20water.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlthough%20Ina's%20recipe%20is%20great%20on%20it's%20own,%20I%20would%20suggest%20rendering%20down%20some%20pancetta%20or%20better%20yet,%20sopressata,%20at%20the%20beginning%20of%20cooking.%20Set%20meat%20aside%20after%20cooking%20and%20toss%20it%20in%20again%20at%20the%20end%20of%20cooking%20to%20reheat.%20That%20spicy,%20salty%20bite%20does%20wonders%20for%20this%20dish!%20Another%20great%20tip%20is%20to%20make%20some%20homemade%20garlic%20breadcrumbs%20to%20garnish%20the%20pasta%20to%20give%20a%20little%20bit%20of%20crunch%20to%20each%20bite.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20out%20Ina's%20recipe%20for%20Aglio%20E%20Olio%20here!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EListening%20To:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECaribou%20-%20Dive%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
