Ingredientes

  • 1 quart SHREDDED CABBAGE, (I use a variety of types)
  • 2 x ONIONS, sliced
  • 5 x FENUGREEK SEEDS
  • 1/2 tsp CUMIN SEEDS
  • 1/4 tsp BROWN MUSTARD SEEDS
  • 1/2 tsp FENNEL SEEDS
  • 2 x CLOVES GARLIC
  • 1 1/2 x INCHES FRESH GINGER
  • 1 x CANNED Or possibly RIPE TOMATO
  • 1/2 tsp TURMERIC
  • 1 x FRESH Warm GREEN CHILI, (I use jalapeno)
  • 1 3/4 tsp SALT
  • 1 tsp Grnd GARAM MASALA
  • 1 Tbsp. LEMON JUICE
  • 4 c. COOKED BASMAHTI RICE

Direcciones

  1. Spray saute/fry pan with Pam. Pour in fenugreek, cumin, mustard, and fennel seeds. Spray seeds with Pam. Saute/fry, stirring, till sizzling and color changes. Add in onions and saute/fry over med. heat 3 minutes, till lightly browned.
  2. Add in shredded cabbage, stir and cook a few min to release juices. Place ginger, garlic, chili, turmeric and tomato in blender. Puree. Add in to cabbage. Cover and cook over low heat till cabbage is very tender. Add in lemon juice and salt. Cook 5 minutes. Add in garam masala and serve over rice.
