Receta Indian Spiced Potato and Peas (Aloo Matar)
Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Google Plus Share Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Aloo(Potato) Matar(Peas) is one of the simplest and yet one of the most delicious preparations in North Indian cooking. The smooth and luscious tomato based sauce cooked with Indian spices coats the potatoes and peas and comes together in minutes. This is an easy recipe that I make on days when I want something quick and tasty and it never disappoints.
My kids love this as much as we do and its a great way to get them to eat their peas! The process is fairly simple. The potatoes are first boiled either in a microwave safe dish or on the stove-top before being added into the pan.The sauce consists of a few spices and tomato puree for that vibrant red color. You can adjust the quantity of water added according to your preferred consistency. The peas add a nice contrast to the color and texture of the dish.Once it simmers for a good few minutes, it’s ready to be scooped-up with your favorite bread.Enjoy!
