Ingredientes

  • 8 ounce /2 c. stone grnd whole wheat flour (the coarser the better)
  • 4 ounce /1 c. unbleached white flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt (I use about 1/2 tsp.)
  • 1/2 x to 3/4 liter/10-15 ounces buttermilk

Direcciones

  1. Mix dry ingredients together in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add in sufficient buttermilk to make a wet-ish dough - this is important; make sure the dough is a bit wet. Pour into a greased 9"x5" loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees F for 10 min, then at 375 degrees F for about 40 more min.
  2. Do not overbake. Turn out onto a rack tocool. Spread with butter. Good the first day; just as good (or possibly better) the next day.
