Receta Israeli Wonder Cake
by Lisa @ Flour Me With Love

My daughter did a project for school where she had to pick a different country, research it and then do a presentation about it; she chose Israel. While doing her research she learned that the Israeli eat their main meal between 12-2:00pm and supper at 7:00pm. Being that there are so many hours in between they usually have coffee or tea with cake around 4 or 5:00pm. I love this idea! The most popular cake they serve is called Wonder Cake and let's just say...this cake is wonderful! It's somewhat like a pound cake and sponge cake combined. It's not too sweet, has a great crumb texture, is easy to make and it does indeed go perfectly with coffee and tea. If you need a quick, simple, and delicious cake this is the recipe to try...I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients are as follows:

Directions:

Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

Cream together the butter and sugar.

Add in the egg yolks one at a time, beating after each addition.

Mix in half of the dry ingredients.

Stir in the milk and vanilla.

Add remaining dry ingredients and stir until combined.

Pour into prepared pan.

Bake for 45-50 minutes; until nicely browned. Carefully remove cake from the pan and allow to cool on a wire rack. Sprinkle on some powdered sugar if you'd like (we didn't sprinkle any on because we felt it didn't need it).

Slice, serve and enjoy!
