Italian Tomato Sauce

Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Minced onions
  • 6 x Cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil
  • 4 can (28-ounce) Italian plum tomatoes, undrained and cut into small pieces.
  • 2 can (15-ounce) tomato sauce
  • 2 can (12-ounce) tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 tsp Basil leaves
  • 2 tsp Oregano leaves
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 x Bay leaves

Direcciones

  1. In an 8-qt kettle, cook onion and garlic in oil over medium-high heat till tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, stirring occaisionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 3 hrs, stirring often.
  2. Remove bay leaves. Cold, store in refrigerator up to 3 days or possibly pour into freezer containers, leaving 1/2-inch headspace and freeze up to 3 months.
  3. Makes 19 c.. Good to present with a package of pasta, French bread, and spaghetti measuring utensils.
