Ingredientes

  • 1 sm Red Lobster Cocktail Shrimp Party Platter
  • 1 med onion diced
  • 2 med green bell peppers diced
  • 8 x celery stalks diced
  • 1 can minced tomatoes - (28 ounce) with juice
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper - (to 1 tspn) or possibly to taste
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt or possibly to taste
  • 1/4 c. dry sherry
  • 1/2 tsp chopped garlic

Direcciones

  1. Remove tails from shrimp if you like. Add in oil to large skillet. Place onions, celery, green bell peppers, and garlic in warm oil. Saute/fry 2 min, then cover and sweat till cooked (5 to 7 min).
  2. Stir again. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir. Cook 5 min till roux begins to brown and stick to vegetables. Stir in tomatoes; allow to boil and thicken.
  3. Add in shrimp, cayenne, pepper and salt. Cook 5 min. Add in sherry; bring back to a boil. Serve over white rice.
  4. This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
  5. NOTES : Chef's Tip - Adjust salt and cayenne to taste. Water can be added to vary thickness.
